To celebrate 20 years of serving our clients and communities, we wanted to do something special. Instead of just looking back, we looked around us—and decided to give back. Our “20 Acts of Kindness” campaign was a way to show our gratitude, spread positivity, and make a meaningful impact across Ohio. Here’s a look at how we spent the month giving back, one act at a time.

Day 1: We kicked off our campaign by stopping by Holland’s 24 Hour Laundromat with detergent and spare change to help lighten the load for anyone in need.

Day 2: Our Youngstown office surprised staff and servers alike by tipping the full bill during lunch at Sweet Melissa’s Good Eats, one of our local favorites.

Day 3: For Employee Appreciation Day, we celebrated our incredible team with thank-you notes and brand-new KNR umbrellas.

Day 4: Small gestures go a long way—our staff sent uplifting messages to loved ones to spread a little kindness and brighten their day.

Day 5: In Columbus, our team left cheerful notes and quarters on shopping carts at Aldi, helping shoppers and lifting spirits.

Day 6: Forgoing their usual coffee or takeout, our staff pooled their lunch money and raised $300 to donate to the Children’s Hunger Alliance to help feed children in need.

Day 7: We showed gratitude to Akron’s Station 12 Fire Department with a special lunch drop-off to thank them for their bravery and service.

Day 8: At Cleveland’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, our team handed out Uber gift cards to promote safe rides and responsible celebrations.

Day 9: KNR Partner Ken Zerrusen covered a stranger’s grocery bill at a local store, proving that even one act of kindness can make a big impact.

Day 10: We donated books to Little Free Libraries throughout Ohio to share the love of reading and community connection.

Day 11: To welcome spring, we surprised local businesses with bouquets of fresh flowers to brighten up their day.

Day 12: Our team visited the Cleveland American Veterans Association (CAVA) to donate new linens and essentials for newly housed veterans starting fresh.

Day 13: From morning coffee to meals, our team hit the streets to surprise strangers and friends by picking up the tab—just because.

Day 14: Across Ohio, our staff stocked local mini food pantries with nonperishable food and essential household items.

Day 15: We made handmade cards to deliver to local nursing homes, sharing warmth, cheer, and personal messages with residents.

Day 16: Our Dayton office donated hygiene products and cleaning supplies to the Artemis Center to support families facing domestic violence.

Day 17: Our attorneys visited Chase Stemm Academy in Toledo with a donation of brand-new books for Ms. Saine’s 3rd grade classroom to encourage young readers.

Day 18: Throughout the month, our staff donated blood to patients, giving the gift of life to those in need.

Day 19: We delivered a basket of sweet treats to the nurses and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care in Wadsworth to thank them for their dedication.

Day 20: We wrapped up our campaign by cleaning up litter in our neighborhoods, helping make our communities cleaner and greener.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our 20 Acts of Kindness. Here’s to 20 years of KNR—and many more years of compassion, connection, and community!
